About the Hong Kong Flying Fifteen Association

HKG 3882 finishing the Around the Island Race, November 2007.

The Hong Kong Flying Fifteen Association was established in the early1960’s and has over seventy members, with over thirty boats based at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, Causeway Bay (http://www.rhkyc.org.hk). The Fifteen fleet is the most active in the Club, with racing on almost every weekend of the year. Most racing is in the Harbour on Saturday afternoons, but some six/eight times a year the fleet sail to Port Shelter, Clearwater Bay or Lamma for a full weekend sailing.

Fifteens are also well represented at Regattas, Round the Island Race, etc, and have an excellent record competing on handicap against different classes of boat. Off the water, we believe that we are friendly and welcoming, after the usual jugs in the bar apres-sail, we inevitably go for a meal somewhere on Saturday evenings.

Would you like to Fly a Fifteen?

If you have some sailing experience and are seriously interested in trying out the Association boat, or if you want to get on the crew list, or whatever, just turn up at the Club on a Saturday lunch time and ask for the Fifteens. Everyone knows us!
